😋 A six and a half hour lunch

My husband and I recently travelled to Adelaide to celebrate our dearest friend Phil’s 60th birthday.

2 days later, it was my birthday. And their beagle, Bella, also turned 14 in September. So naturally, it became a triple birthday celebration. 🐶🎂

After weeks of haze in KL, Adelaide’s crisp spring weather was a lovely bonus. It was so refreshing.

On Phil’s birthday, we visited a winery restaurant for a spectacular 12-course lunch. The food was exceptional, and the 12 generous glasses of wine made the experience even more memorable.

We arrived at 11:30 a.m and left at 6 p.m. Yet we didn’t feel like we stayed in the restaurant for 6 and a half hours. The time passed too quickly.

The whole week was filled with good food, drinks, rest, laughter and celebration. I’ve put on a few kilos and I’m now trying to be more disciplined with my diet. It is not easy, though. 😅

I posted about Phil and Amanda, our friends last year, too. Although we live in different countries, we make sure to see each other at least once a year.

Sometimes, a special occasion gives us a reason. Other times, we simply choose a date and make it happen. We stay in each other’s homes or go on holidays together.

As we grow older, making new friends and maintaining old friendships can become more challenging.

If we can’t even meet once a year when we live in the same city, it might mean that we don’t really align or that the relationship no longer holds the same place in our lives.

But when we really want to spend time with someone, no matter how busy we are, we find a way.

⁉️ How do you, or how would you like to, celebrate special moments with your loved ones?

🎑 Happy Mid-Autumn festival, everyone!
