This year, Iāve realized how much Iāve been in my comfort zone, not being proactive to build community or meeting new people. Attending the āAmplify Impact workshop: branding and storytelling for social changeā was a wake-up call, reminding me how I value meaningful connections with those who share similar values and aspirations.
Gratitude First, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Annie Hor, who invited me to this wonderful opportunity. She is a qualified financial planner (CFP) and loving mom who helps busy women take charge of their finances so they can focus on what matters most, using a holistic approach tailored to different stages of life.
Learning from Empowering Leaders A special shoutout to Alleena Abdullah, the founder of Yellow Tree. From the moment she conducted the pre-workshop online session, her energy and passion were infectious. Having facilitated and attended many workshops myself, I can confidently say how powerful and inspiring her sessions were. She provided me with clarity about “Why am I doing what I do?”
Another standout session was led by Shan Szetho, a director and producer at Stories. Shan is passionate about creating family- and women-centric content. Her visual storytelling session challenged me to reignite my commitment to refining my message and communicating with authenticity.
It was also a delight to reconnect with Grace Tan, the founder of Stories and an ICF-certified life coach. Meeting Grace for the second time reinforced how much I value her inspiration. Her commitment to embracing individual stories and journeys reminded me of my own mission: “Empower individuals to maximise their potential by leveraging strengths and embracing their authenticity and unique stories”.
Meeting New People I finally met Dr Azhar Ahmad, one of Malaysiaās top LinkedIn influencers. We shared our experiences of working abroad and reflected on finding deeper meaning in life as we navigate our 50s and 60s. Conversations like these underscore how invaluable it is to share our stories and learn from one anotherās journeys.
Additionally, it was lovely to meet Luisa Yeng, Emily Chin, S.Y. Phang and Chuah Ai Jou. Although our interactions were brief, the warmth and openness they brought to the workshop created an atmosphere of inspiration.
Key Takeaways and Looking Ahead The workshop gave me a clearer vision for 2025, particularly in how I want to align my values, actions, and messaging to create meaningful impact.
Beyond the content, what stood out most was the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals. It served as a powerful reminder of the importance of growth, challenging ourselves, and finding renewed purpose.
